Portraits

My original goal for this series of portraits was to capture moments from movies. Sometimes, these are powerful, grandiose moments preceding great drama. Sometimes, these are subtle moments to be shared between actor and audience.

The series evolved, of its own accord, into "headshots" of famous people for whom I am a fan and admirer. The visage of each subject is somewhat serious, perhaps even stern. But there are no smiles and rarely any teeth.

I hope the audience feels a sense of familiarity and perhaps even fandom. What would be this series' greatest accomplishment, though, is if a viewer had no idea who someone was, but went home (or pulled out their phone) and let their curiosity guide them.
